MaPS, Inc. partners with local governments to develop and support GIS systems and data for public works infrastructure. Many public works departments have their data stored in fragmented CAD formats acquired from different contractors over the years. As a result, their systems data is not comprehensive and exists mainly in paper form. Worse yet, important infrastructure details may exist only in the minds/memories of key staff. GPS field data collection offers increased accuracy and the resulting GIS preserves critical information over the long-term.
MaPS, Inc. has facilitated a variety of public infrastructure projects including mapping of:
• Utility systems such as water, sewer, and storm;
• Road networks and zones;
• Weeds and mosquito districts.
